Calling the LK10 Community to Prayer

Calling the LK10 Community to Prayer
March 10, 2016

From John White:  I've felt the Lord's leading in the last couple of days to call the LK10 Community (now 500 subscribed to this Newsletter) to prayer.  There are some wonderful 10:2b answers developing in countries around the world.  My sense is that we are to join our brothers and sisters working in those areas in beseeching the Lord of the harvest to thrust out people of peace and apostolic church planters in their regions. Specifically, I'm asking you to mention at least one of these countries as you pray with your CO2 partner between now and April 2.  Here are these exciting stories...

Paraguay.

A couple of weeks ago, I received a request for Church 101 from Juan Carlos in Paraguay.  Only problem was he had written in Spanish!  I don't read Spanish so I sent this request on to Toni Daniels who is one of our LK10 Regional Coordinators for Uruguay.  Toni contacted Juan Carlos and sent this report:

"I had a wonderful conversation with Juan Carlos today!!  He is definitely an answer to our Lk 10:2b prayers.  He is a house of peace ready to be church as a family TODAY!  We had a beautiful time sharing our stories regarding church experience.  He shared that even though he is in a great Baptist church, he has had a strong desire for community and connexion that he could not see in the church...

I shared with him the mission of LK10, how Jesus saw the church expanding, and concepts of CO2. I also practiced listening with him.  It was totally new to him the concept of sitting in silence and listening together. His response was “Wow!  It is amazing how we talk so much because we are nervous, how we are never quiet.  This was truly enlightening.  I am sure God will have a lot to say.  I love it!”

I sensed the words, “These desires you have, Juan Carlos, are from Me.  Serve your family and invite them into a deeper spiritual reality, I will be with you.”  He is eager to start CO2 with his wife immediately.

Toni and her friend, Solea, will be taking Juan Carlos through Church 101 in Spanish starting next week.  Pray for Juan Carlos and Paraguay.

Uganda.

This is from Bob Lidfors who is our LK10 Regional Coordinator for Germany and Europe...
From March 21 - April 2 I will be on a ministry trip to Uganda to work with my Ugandan friend, Emmanuel Rucyaba. When Emmanuel visited me in the spring of 2015 I taught him the two rhythms of attention. When he returned to Uganda he began practicing checking in with his ministry leaders. On this trip I will speak at a seminar for village pastors in western Uganda and at a conference of rural churches in northwestern Uganda who are all part of Emmanuel's network.
I am especially looking forward to teaching the rhythms of attention to the pastors. Most of them are not only pastors of a local church but are also church planters. Learning and applying "Church of two" could enable them to plant churches in a quicker, easier way than they have ever done before. It could also help them disciple new believers and equip them to go out and plant churches. I could imagine this process snowballing and creating a church planting movement with faster, more far reaching effects than what they have yet experienced.
It's a special blessing for me that my German co-worker, Manfred Rapp, will be accompanying me. Please pray that Manfred will be able to use his gifts to encourage and bless the people we meet. Please pray also for the Lord's blessing and anointing upon this trip - especially that the pastors will really "get it" and use CO2 in their marriages and ministries. And, of course, pray for health and safety for Manfred and me as we travel.
It's great to be part of the Luke 10 community and have your prayer support as I go to Uganda.

Spain.

This is from Joe Showalter who is our LK10 Regional Coordinator in Ohio...

I'd be glad for your prayers these next few days as I visit our mission team (Conservative Mennonite) in the Mediterranean region. I hope to take them deeper into the apostolic rhythms (some of them have at least had a taste). Pray that I will be a good "attention payer" and that God will help me to see any 10:2b answers he may put in front of me. We'll be meeting in Malaga, Spain.   (Joe returns on 3/14)
