The
new principal of Liberty School’s high school took a 50% pay cut from
his government teaching job to come work with our kids.
Brooks asked him why he would do that.
“I believe in the mission of this school and it is these kinds of
children, orphans and vulnerable children, that I really want to work
with. This is the mission God has given me.”
He then introduced us to one of the new high school students, David,
who had spent his life in ten different foster homes, some abusive and
all neglectful. “This boy is bright, and now he has found a home!”
Sometimes I wonder about the time that Brooks and I have spent on
this school. It’s not our own primary mission of training church
planters. But then we come and see the fruit, child after child that has
benefited from a home, a school, and a place that cares about them.
Once more we find ourselves hooked.
Here are a few of the children that have sponsors and that we have watched grow up. Their faces tell all.
