How
do you lead a house church so that it becomes "a vibrant family of
Jesus"? How can it become a group with a high level of ownership and
participation? How can you lead in such a way that you, as the leader,
don't burn out?
For years, I practiced what I now call "the standard approach to group leadership". Then, I met Dick Wulf who taught me a powerful new approach based on 1 Cor. 12:12. "The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts." What Dick taught me was to disciple the group rather than individuals in the group. What exactly does this mean?
In the Google Hangout video below, I begin to unpack this concept. The Hangout in this video was prompted by Al Paradise (Colorado)
asking the question: "What do you do with people who share for a long
time (politely called "over talking") or who get off track?" In order
to answer that question, we explore the surprising and powerful idea of discipling a group.

Note: We are beginning to increasingly use Google Hangouts as
a vehicle for developing the LK10 Community as a "community of
practice". If you haven't already, I want to encourage you to sign up
with Google+ and become familiar with Google Hangouts.
