Today is Day 2 of my conference experience this week.  I will actually be having an Inception moment.  Representing The Rocket Company, I am sitting at the Orange Conference and will be sharing insights from the morning session of Exponential.  In other words, I’m blogging about a conference from a conference.  Pretty cool!!!
Exponential ’13, whose purpose is to Accelerate Movements, kicked off their morning session with challenging insights Alan and Deb Hirsch and Tim Keller on the subject of leadership and discipleship.

Alan and Debra Hirsch

1. You cannot teach what you do not know.  You cannot lead where you will not go.
2. A leader never stops being a follower of Jesus.
3. Being a leader doesn’t mean we get to point the way.  As leaders, we lead the way.
4. You don’t just get to be a leader and rest.
5. If you are a leader, you must be more radical now.  Not less.
6. A leader must have current stories.  Not old ones.

1. One of the problems with discipleship is you can’t hide…You have to be a Godly person.
2. Natural temperament always has a dark side because it participates in your idols.
3. Unless you’re really a Godly person, discipleship will not work because people aren’t going to believe you.
