Are you willing to die for your service?

Hi Dave and church,
A young woman, friend of a friend, was murdered in Iraq 11 years ago. Her crime? Trying to help others… I trust that you will be inspired and encouraged by this story below!
God loves us, and wouldn't let ISIS kill usAlso, take a look at the video of the young girl, displaced from her home because of ISIS, who shares her amazing faith in word and song.
And, if you haven’t yet, do LIKE the Appleseed page while you are there!

Are you ready to die for your service?

A young woman, friend of my friend, was murdered in Iraq 11 years ago. Her crime? Trying to help others by providing clean water to refugees.
Amazingly, she had written a letter to her church to be read if she were killed.
"When God calls there are no regrets," she wrote. "I wasn't called to a place. I was called to Him… To obey was my objective, to suffer was expected, His glory was my reward, His glory is my reward."
Regarding her funeral she wrote, "Be bold and preach the life saving, life changing, forever eternal GOSPEL. Give glory and honor to our Father."
She listed some of her favorite passages of Scripture, including 2 Corinthians 15:5, which says, "And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again." Another was Romans 15:20, which says, "It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known."
In closing, she wrote, "There is no Joy outside of knowing Jesus and serving Him."

Your prayers needed today for leaders in at-risk areas

bus terror attackIn Kenya, terrorism is closer to home than for most of us. Just a few months ago Somalia’s Islamic extremist rebels, al-Shabaab, attacked a bus in northern Kenya at dawn Saturday, singling out 28 passengers who could not recite Islamic creed, lining them up on the ground, and killing them.
A similar attack took place just two months later! Many of our East African leadership teams are living with these events hanging over their heads.
If you are like me, you don’t even know how to respond to these tragedies. Fear arises, ‘Could this happen to me?’ Frustration and anger that we live in a world where such things are reality.
My hope is that we will also move toward two things that can make a difference: prayer and preparation. Prayer for those who are bringing hope and love to these troubled areas; preparation of our own heart to love God more than anything on this earth, ready to serve Him regardless the cost.
Love and Blessings,
Roger & Brooks
