Hi Body of Christ,
Brooks writes a wonderfully descriptive piece (below) on
the plight of so many women and how you are part of a transformational
chain in their lives.
John Wanyonyi, director of Liberty School, is recovering from a motorcycle accident. Current news on John is here.
Read here
for a short, powerful description of how simple churches are bringing
grassroots change, both spiritually and physically, without outside
dependency.

Many women simply exist… YOU provide hope!
Matter of factly, she told me, "I was an only child. My mother left my father when she was pregnant with me. We went and stayed with my grandmother until I was 10 years old. That was when my father stole me away from her. He married many women. I was treated as a house girl and they used the money he gave them for themselves and their children, instead of for my schooling and needs. Finally, when I was 18, I met a man and one month later we married. It was easier to marry than to stay home and have many men come and bother me."
Many women exist. They survive. They endure. They do not
live. Their stories are written on their faces. The mask held in place
cannot hide the fear and worry that is etched so deeply there. One day
is no different than the last. The hardships of no money, no food, no
clothes, no shoes, sickness, oppression and abuse, and even the reality
of probably the premature death of at least one of their children are
their realities. Sadness and loss beyond what we can imagine. Life bound
to a yoke of plodding through endless days and years … no change
imagined beyond the life that was passed onto them.
But because of you … there is hope for change … for another and another
Blessings,
Roger & Brooks
